Looplings: Second Hand Shopping, Made Easy for Parents
A mobile app shaped by interviews with about 30 people
[Project Overview]

Looplings is a sustainable second-hand children's clothing platform that gives pre loved garments a second life. I designed the app experience, with a playful look, so parents can buy and sell quality children's clothing easily.
[Problem Statement]
Children outgrow clothes quickly, so parents buy often. Second-hand shopping has to feel simple and friendly, not like extra work.

Parents can judge a used item without holding it. A large photo with a gallery of detail shots, including the label, sits at the top, followed by the price, a price comparison link, and the color, brand, and size.

Sophie
Parent shopping for children's clothes
Built from patterns in my interviews with about 30 people. She shops for children's clothes often, is open to second-hand, and wants it to feel as easy as buying new.

[Goal]
Navigate the app without thinking about it.
See clear, honest photos of every item.
Find the right size and condition quickly.
[Frustrations]
Return and exchange hassles.
Digital fatigue from too many steps.
Overwhelm and decision fatigue from endless choices.
[Process]
01 User Research
Interviewed about 30 people about second-hand shopping and online shopping habits.
Asked what makes a good online shopping experience and what they dislike about it.
Found that most were interested in buying second-hand clothes, and that simple navigation, clear images, and easy search mattered most.
[02] Insights
Parents want clear photos and details so they can judge a used item without seeing it.
Returns, digital fatigue, and too many choices were the biggest frustrations.
Second-hand shopping had to feel as simple as buying new.
[03 Design Solution]
Built the home screen around a search bar, category icons, and popular items, so browsing is quick.
Added filters for size, condition, price, and category, and product pages with several photos, size, brand, and a price comparison link.
Made selling one tap away with a central "+" button in the navigation bar.
Visual Style
Created a playful style with warm cream backgrounds, soft blue accents, and terracotta for key actions.
Used hand-drawn icons and doodles to keep the app friendly.
Kept buttons, cards, and spacing consistent across the whole flow, from welcome to checkout.rom wireframes through final high-fidelity screens for handoff and presentation.
[Outcome]
A complete buying flow: browse, filter, product page, shopping bag, and checkout.
An app layout shaped by interviews with about 30 people.of active players following at least one recommendation per day.
A friendly, consistent style that makes second-hand shopping feel easy.
[Key Learnings]
Research shaped the layout
Interviews showed that simple navigation, clear images, and easy search mattered most, so the home screen is built around them.
Fewer choices, less fatigue
Clear categories and filters help parents find the right piece without endless scrolling.
Friendly doesn't mean cluttered
A playful style works best when spacing and hierarchy stay clean.
