Redesigning MyLOOT to Build Trust, Clarity, and Motivation

Making the reward system transparent, motivating, and easy to trust

[Project Overview]

Scope: Dashboard, profile, league history, payments, and info screens
Target users: Mobile gamers earning real money rewards by playing partner games
Outcome: A clearer, more motivating rewards experience built around transparency and trust

MyLOOT is a gaming rewards app that lets players earn real money by playing their favorite mobile games. Players complete challenges, track their progress, and cash out their coins he promise is simple: play, and get rewarded. This redesign focused on making that promise visible at every step, so players always understand how the reward system works instead of taking it on faith.

[Problem Statement]

Despite a strong core concept play games, earn real money MyLOOT left players guessing about how the reward system actually worked. It wasn't clear when rewards were issued, how close they were to their next payout, or which actions were worth their time. That uncertainty turned what should feel exciting into a source of friction and doubt.

Key usability challenges identified:

  • No clear explanation of how or when rewards are calculated and paid out

  • No visibility into progress toward the next reward

  • No guidance on which games or actions earn the most

  • Payment eligibility rules buried and easy to miss

  • Reward and transaction history difficult to find and review

As a result, users experience unnecessary friction during a task that should feel fast, familiar, and low effort.

[Goal]

Understand exactly how and when rewards are paid.

Track progress toward the next payout at a glance.

Know which games or actions earn the most.

[Frustrations]

Reward rules feel hidden and inconsistent.

No way to see how close he is to a payout.

Unsure which of his games actually count.

[Process]

01 Research & Analysis

Studied player feedback and behavior patterns around how and when rewards were understood and trusted.

Mapped the full earn-to-cashout journey, from playing a partner game to receiving a payout, to find where confusion set in.

Reviewed how similar reward and loyalty apps explain their earning and payout systems.

[02] Insights

The reward system itself, not any single screen, was the biggest source of player confusion.

Players wanted real-time, visual progress instead of buried text explanations.

Players expected personalized guidance on which games or actions earned the most.

[03 Design Solution]

Designed a dashboard with a real-time reward progress bar and immediate visibility into earnings.

Built a dedicated payments screen showing eligibility status per game and total available coins.

Added a plain-language info screen explaining exactly how the prize pool and payouts work.

Documentation & KPIs

Wrote the epics and user stories behind each design decision, tied to the player pain point it solves.

Defined success metrics for reward transparency, recommendation adoption, and login engagement.

Took the work from wireframes through final high-fidelity screens for handoff and presentation.

[Outcome]

35% increase in players checking their profile 2+ times a week.
50% of active players following at least one recommendation per day.
5% improvement in 7-day retention, validated through A/B testing.

[Key Learnings]

Clarity builds trust

Once players could see exactly how and when they'd be paid, the reward system stopped feeling like a black box.

Progress needs to be visible, not implied

A real-time progress bar did more for motivation than any amount of explanatory copy.

Guidance turns confusion into action

Personalized suggestions reduced decision fatigue and made rewards feel earned, not arbitrary.
